The Ambling Rambler I haven't met anyone yet that hasn't got a bad habit of some sort. I'm not talking about drugs, alcohol or nicotine addiction, although I've seen plenty of that. I'm talking about other things like things we collect, or things we do. I think we all have something, some of them might be shameful and dark, and hidden from others, others hilarious.I am no different, a...

An American Mom in Tuscany: Jordan's Cochlear Hmm. Of course I decide to get a dog the coldest day of the year here in Grosseto. For the past three days, Brie has peed and pooped all over the house and Luca just smiles and indicates the spot for me to clean. Brie is SO damn cute and cuddly, I don't even mind becoming the human pooper scooper. I've always thought that dogs look just like their owners, take my mom ...

SpeakUpLibrarian Tis better to give than to receive. How true especially if you've been a tad bit naughty with your gift giving. Smirk.Last year I found an irresistible gift for my parents who are just a little leery of receiving affection from my big friendly golden retriever. I got them t shirts that said "Ask me about my grand-dog" with a nice large paw print on the front. Tee hee....

0 votes My Christmas Season
I'm adopting a deaf child with Ushers, now wh Things seem to be returning to "normal" in our household. We went to the opthamologist for Rebecca a couple of weeks ago, her perpherial vision has taken a nosedive this past year, but her central vision has remained the same. The opthamologist mentioned a surgery that could slow things down and referred us to a specialist which we will see in May. I'm not sure if sur...

Five String Guitar It is either tradition or herd mentality that precipitates stock taking, and some form of corrective action or resolve, to change ways, on years first day. I usually follow suit and do the former, but have struggled annually to do the latter. This year I would dearly love to draw in more "action" and less observation. But that may change. It usually does. There are di...

Mountain Mama Poor Maisie...I spent the day following her around with paper towels and cleaner, wiping up diarrhea. We all went to my husband's parents' house for Christmas and Maisie got into the turkey carcass. Whoops! So when she got diarrhea, I assumed it was from the turkey. Then I saw something wiggle. Upon closer inspection-- worms! Ugh!I called the vet, hoping I could get a...

Jim's DEEP Thoughts As Christmas came and gone. We are heading to a NEW YEAR and that people will start thinking of their own "resolutions" that often fail every year. Any self-efforts kind of resolution in your life, you will find it more easy to be entangled by the world's sin. In this world, we are to arm ourselves spiritually to wrestle against the world, the devil and the flesh. Go...

The deaf boy in the world Why January 1, 2009? That is when smoking in the bars and clubs are illegal here in Utah. I am looking forward to that day because I hate to come home with clothes that smell like I smoked the whole carton. Now I can save money on dry cleaning because half of my clothes can only be dry-cleaned.
